It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. School has been a bit crazy lately, and my weekends have been filled with studying for the AP Chemistry test. On that note, let’s get into the post!

I just took the AP Chemistry exam on Thursday, and let me say it was quite an experience. I was nervous for this test, because chemistry was a hard class for me this year, and I’m thankful it’s over with. It is interesting to see how College Board adapted to the situation right now to ensure we could still take our tests, and while I’m not sure how successful they were at making the testing process work for everyone, I managed to submit my work successfully.

After talking with my chem class the next day, we realized there were multiple versions of the test; the version I received was deemed the most difficult one. I’m pretty sure that College Board will be scoring these versions differently based on how those who took them performed, so I’m not too upset about taking the hardest version. I think I studied enough for it, and I don’t wish I had done more review. In all honesty, I don’t look at APs as some great, scary, harbinger of doom. To me, its simply a test. If I do well on it, great! I can get out of a college class or test into a higher one, maybe. If I don’t do as well, I am confident in the fact that I did my best, and I won’t put the score on my college application.

My hope is that I receive a 4 on this exam, and a 5 would be a miracle of a score, but I have no clue how I did points-wise. It’s my understanding that getting about 60% of the available points will get me a 4, but all I can do now is wait and see.

We’re wrapping up this odd school year with a couple final projects, and one unit math test. All my finals have been cancelled (thank you, teachers!), so I have a pretty light last two weeks. Over the summer, I’m utilizing my free time due to cancelled vacations to take some online classes. I signed up for a free college anatomy class through Carnegie Mellon University, and while it won’t count for any credit or as a class on my transcript, I’m interested in the subject and hope the information will be useful in my AP bio class or later on.

I’m also taking a 2 week medicine course through Wake Forest’s summer online program, and making good use of the now free summer classes my school is offering to get US History out of the way. The summer should be a busy one, and most likely it won’t be much of a break from school, but these last few weeks have felt like a summer of sorts, and I’m anxious to start building a background for college apps.

Here’s to an interesting next few weeks! See you next time.

Hi all! It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything.
