My Sleep Routine

Personal

Reagan Smith 02/10/2020

A/N: it’s going to be a short post today, since I’ve been really busy with a lot of other stuff going on and I need to get caught up on my homework

So, since I’ve been doing a series of posts on sleeping, I thought it’d be time to do a post about what my night typically looks like.  For reference, I’m a sophomore in high school, and my nightly homework load is typically around 3 hours.  I usually have a dance class later in the evening, or I head to the gym.  Once I get home, around 9 o’clock, I like to shower and put on some lotion afterward, since my skin is just so dry lately.  As I’m getting ready for bed, I put on a TV show on Netflix or listen to some music.  Right now, I enjoy watching The Great British Baking Show, Atypical, and Grace and Frankie; for music, it switches up depending on my mood.  Either Ariana Grande, Hozier, or some Alternative.  Making a cup of tea is one of the ways I help get into the mindset of sleep, so that’s always a must on my nighttime routine.  By this point, I’m either sleepy and will go to bed, or I get a sudden boost of productivity and do some homework or clean my room.  If I can’t seem to settle down, I’ll take a couple of the Olly Melatonin vitamins, since it’s a natural, drug-free gummy vitamin that helps my brain chill out.  Finally, I end my routine with some fuzzy socks and a cozy blanket, and I’m off to sleep!
